REL Announcements:
  • FSCJ Course Approval times have been adjusted. Students should follow this schedule for course approval with their counselor:
    • Early College program Seniors (due to the tight timeline, students must be in line 30 minutes prior to the end time of any session) - 
      • Oct. 12th 12:00-1:00 p.m.
      • Oct. 14th 7:30-9:30 a.m.
    • Early College program Juniors (due to the tight timeline, students must be in line 30 minutes prior to the end time of any session) - 
      • Oct. 12th 1:00-2:00 p.m. 
      • Oct. 14th 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
    • Traditional Dual Enrollment students - see your counselor
    • Early Admit Seniors - see your counselor
  • Lady General Volleyball Dig Pink Senior Night game - Oct. 13 at 5:30 p.m. Wear pink to the game and admission is free!

  • Teacher Door Competition – Thursday, October 13th – Teachers decorate their doors to recognize outstanding student-athletes in their classes or show GENERAL PRIDE!  Three teachers with the best decorated doors will win a gift card for Starbucks or Panera!
  • Homecoming MixerTHIS IS EVENT IS BEING RESCHEDULED!
  • Homecoming Pep Rally – Friday, October 14th
  • Homecoming Game & Coronation of King and Queen – Friday, October 14th at 7:00pm

REL Announcements:
  • Hello Generals! We hope everyone survived Hurricane Matthew with little to no damage. Our buildings withstood the storm very well. Faculty and staff are busy rescheduling missed activities, appointments, and assignment timelines. Please keep posted for changes. If any of our Generals need assistance as a result of the storm, please contact your school counselor. 
  • FSCJ has posted the Spring 2017 course schedule! Students should follow this schedule for course approval with their counselor:

  • Fall Parent & Student Information Night has been rescheduled for Oct. 25th at 5:30 p.m. Topics include: Financial Aid Information & FAFSA assistance, NCAA Clearinghouse, dual enrollment, Early College timelines, and college fair.
  • Attention students participating in the GET REAL Mentoring program - meeting are every other Thursday starting Oct. 13th. Please bring your ID and report to the Media Center for the meeting. Participation form must be returned prior to participating in the program. See Dr. Eady for more information. 
  • Marathon High Announcements - 
    • Team meeting Thursday, Oct. 13 at 2:15 in Ms. Sorrells room. Students do not need to dress out for this meeting. 
    • First team practice is Saturday, Oct. 15th. Be prepared to start running at 8:00 a.m.! Students must have their physical turned in before they can run with the team.

  •  All after-school activities at REL have been cancelled for Oct. 5th, 6th, & 7th.
  • All DCPS schools are closed Oct. 6th & 7th. 
  • FSCJ classes are cancelled and campuses are closed, Oct. 5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th.
  • First Friday meeting at FSCJ is cancelled Oct. 7th. 
  • Juniors Registration session is cancelled Oct. 7th. A new date will be scheduled next week.

College Conversation List - Oct. 4, 2016

The REL College Conversations are designed to let students talk with college reps about important topics such as programs, financial aid, dorm life, fraternity and sorority organizations, and athletic programs. Check out the list of universities below that have already asked to meet with REL Generals! See schools you're interested in? Click the link school name) to sign up for the College Conversation! Don't see a school you're interested in? Keep checking back! We add events to this list all year long. Additions are noted in pink and date changes are noted in red
College reps will also be available to talk with during our 
Fall Information Night Oct. 11th starting at 5:30 p.m. 
Colleges/programs that will be attending include: Jacksonville University, Florida International University, FSCJ, Everest, Valdosta State, JTech, Newport University, Florida State University, Bethune-Cookman University, and more!

This program is designed to allow students to work with a school counselor individually or in small groups to complete college, scholarship, and financial aid applications. 
College Quest will be held Oct. 20, Oct 28, Nov. 18, Dec. 16.

  • NHS applications are due today to Mrs. Sambol-Tosco by 2:10 p.m.
  • Marathon High registration forms are due Thursday, Oct. 6th.
  • Art and Language Club interest meeting - Oct. 6th at 2:00 in room 170. See Ms. Belzeski for more information. 
  • Fall Parent & Student Information Night - Oct. 11th at 5:30 p.m. Topics include: Financial Aid Information & FAFSA assistance, NCAA Clearinghouse, dual enrollment, Early College timelines, and college fair
  • Attention NHS applicants! To make the NHS application process easier, students do NOT have to attach a transcript to the application. The REL Records Department will work with the NHS sponsor to retrieve the needed information after applications are submitted. Click here for more information.
