This Scholarship Program is available to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) persons in the Jacksonville metropolitan area (Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, and St. Johns Counties). PFLAG of Jacksonville holds an annual scholarship contest for openly gay, lesbian, bisexual, and Transgender individuals who are active in, and educate, the community around them. From psychologists to ministers, our recipients are from every walk of life and age range.

National Honor Society (NHS) applications emailed!

Students, check your FSCJ email account! The NHS application was just sent to EC Seniors and Juniors. The application deadline is Oct. 11th. Applications should be turned in to Dr. Keefe as soon as possible.

The National Honor Society is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. These characteristics have been   associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but also challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and providing community service.

Jax Commitment Scholarship is OPEN!

The Jacksonville Commitment, is a partnership among the four Jacksonville colleges and universities, the Duval County Public Schools, and City of Jacksonville. Students can earn the cost of a four-year degree, including books, tuition and fees for UNF, EWC, JU, or FSCJ. That's up to $40,000 just for answering one 500-word essay question!

Need help with your essay? Come by the College and Career Room at Lee on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. You can access the computers, complete the application on-line, and have your essay reviewed by teachers. 

Exchange Club of Jacksonville Student of the Year

Opportunity for to earn community service hours or scholarship dollars!

The Exchange Club of Jacksonville is proud to be a vibrant part of the success of Jacksonville.Members of the Club hold positions of leadership in the business, industrial, professional, education, and religious life of our city. Charted in 1923, the Club meets weekly for lunch to promote community projects and to show an interest in good citizenship. The Club is involved in Exchange’s National Programs of Service in the areas of Community Service, Americanism, and Youth Projects, and the prevention of child abuse through sponsorship of the Northeast Florida Exchange Club Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.

The Student of the Year (one male and one female Senior) will be selected from all those students from the Public and Private High Schools that choose to participate. Among all the finalists one male and one female will be awarded a college scholarship each not to exceed $2000. If interested, pick up an application in Dr. Keefe's office next week!

FAMU MEDICAL SCHOLARS PROGRAM

A message from FAMU UNIVERSITY ADVANCEMENT -

Florida A&M University has just launched the inaugural cohort of the Medical Scholars Program for fall 2013. With the exciting and excellent start of this cohort, so follows the preparation and recruitment of the next cohort for fall 2014.

The Medical Scholars Program at Florida A&M University provides a specialized four-year curriculum in pre-medical biology or pre-medical chemistry. Some applicants will also receive a provisional acceptance into the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University. This program is for incoming fall 2014 freshmen only.

We are seeking students with a minimum 3.50 un-weighted high school GPA, 1800 or better SAT score or 27 or better ACT score.
