Johnson
& Johnson Vision Care is partnering with Duval County Public School
(DCPS) system to enhance the education of DCPS students interested in STEM
careers by providing an 8-week internship program. Interns will be provided with learning experiences complementary to the STEM academic foundation presented in the classroom while
extending the boundaries of the typical academic environment.
- Students must be 16 or older (current sophomores or juniors) to apply.
- Have a current GPA of 2.5 or higher and an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher in math and science.
- Student must be recommended by a counselor, career academy, math, or science instructor.
- Students must have a clean background
- Exhibit exemplary student behavior
- Have an interest in manufacturing, engineering, and/or other STEM related areas.
- Have no more than five excused and unexcused absences for the 2014-2015 school year.
- Be able to provide their own transportation to and from Johnson & Johnson Vision Care and commit to 30-40 hours a week.
- Exhibit a level of maturity and responsibility in order to participate in laboratory exercises which may include exposure and handling of delicate machinery.
