Cappex Underclassmen Scholarship List - Awards for students in 9th-11th grades!
It’s Never Too Early! 40 Scholarships for High School Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors
When
you’re a high school freshman, sophomore, or junior, paying for college
might seem like something you might not even need to think about yet.
Don’t make that mistake! The sooner you start applying for scholarships
and setting aside money for tuition, books, supplies, and everything
else you’ll need, the better off you’ll be when it actually comes time
to pack your bags! There are many scholarship opportunities and contests available to
students who are still early in their high school careers. [Cappex] put
together a great list of them below, so don’t waste another day—apply
now!

Athletic Trainer Scholarship - $5,000
GCA Service Group, Inc.
- Must be a Senior enrolled in a Duval County Public School
- Maintain at least a 3.0 GPA on an unweighted scale of 4.0
- Must plan and be accepted to a two or four year institution
- Must be pursuing a major in Sports Medicine or related discipline
- Must complete a 200-300 word essay on why you chose this profession and tell how you want to make a difference in your community or in the lives of others. (Double spaced and 12 font).
- Two letters of recommendation from either a teacher, coach, administrator, or counselor who knows your strengths
- Must provide an academic transcript from your high school
- Must complete the attached application and include:
- Must have served at least 75 service hours
The deadline for submission of the scholarship will be Thursday, April 3,
2014 to the Office of Special Programs.
Winners
will be notified by Monday, April 21, 2014
Winners
will be invited to the Gateway Conference Banquet at the Morocco Shrine Temple
on Monday, May 19, 2014 to receive the $5,000.00 scholarship.Winners will also be acknowledged at the June School Board Meeting

Odenza Vacations College Scholarship- $500 - Deadline: June 1, 2014
Student Eligibility:
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 24 on September 1, 2014
- Must submit an answer to the essay question, which can be found on the application page.
- Must have a GPA of 2.5 or greater.

MCO Scholarship- $500 - Deadline: May 15, 2014

Eligibility:
- Must be attending college or university no later than December of 2014.
- Must be attending college or university on a full-time basis (at least 4 courses) by December of 2014.
- Must submit an answer to the essay question no later than 11:59 PM EST on May 15, 2014.
- Must be currently in your last year of high school or a freshman, sophomore, or junior in college/university.
Maple Leaf Dentistry Scholarship- $500 - Deadline: May 30, 2014
Student Eligibility
- Must be attending school at the undergraduate level in the fall of 2014
- Must have contributed at least 100 hours of volunteer work over the last 2 calendar years
- Must possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher in his/her last academic year
