FSCJ Textbook Update - Aug 26

Textbooks for FSCJ courses continue to arrive each day, but there is still no feasible way to determine what books will arrive on what day or to announce what has arrived without causing further delays.

DE Textbook Bookroom Hours
Thursday, August 27 - 12:30-1:30p Juniors, 2:30-3:30p Seniors
Friday, August 28 - 7:30-8:30a Juniors, 9:00-10a  Seniors
NEW DATE & TIME - Saturday, August 29 - 9:30-11:30 open for Juniors and Seniors
  • You must turn in a copy of your schedule with your name on it to retrieve books. If you have already turned in a schedule for books, you do not have to turn in another schedule.
  • You will need a PEN to sign for your books.
  • Students must check-in at the REL Main Office before reporting to the DE Bookroom.
  • If you borrowed a book from the DE Bookroom last week, please return or exchange it for your new books at this time.
  • If you just turned in your Textbook Order form this week or haven't turned in a form yet, then your books will not be here yet. Turn in your forms, if you have not already.
If you were told a textbook could not be ordered, but the class syllabus lists a required text:
If this happened to you/happens to you, then you must fill out a Textbook Order Conflict Form. This form, once signed by the High School Counselor, provides approval for picking up textbooks from FSCJ. This form is ONLY for a conflict between what could be ordered and what the professor lists as required in the syllabus. Textbook Conflict forms will be available in the REL DE Textbook Room during the above listed hours.

What can you do while waiting for textbooks to arrive:
- Study with someone who does have the books.
- Check with FSCJ and Jacksonville Public Libraries for available books.
- Talk with professor(s) about the process delays and efforts you have made to problem solve.
- Ask professors if you can use alternate sources of information to complete assignments.
- If you feel you need more support when working with a professor, please contact Ms. Naita for assistance.

Can students purchase their own books?
Yes, but this is considered a personal expense. Over 200 emails have been sent from the book company since Sunday indicating books have been shipped to REL. Books are arriving every day.
