Community Service Opportunities - April 2015



Volunteers are needed for the events listed below. The volunteer shift for each event is 5:15-7:15 p.m., unless noted in the description. If you would like to volunteer, please email Dr. Keefe the event and date you are interested in helping with. Thank you! 

Spring Cleaning!  - April 2, REL DE Book Room
Do you like to organize stuff? Clean things out? Make things look nice and neat? This is the event for you! It's time for some spring cleaning in the Dual Enrollment Book Room! Volunteers will help organize DE textbooks, destroy old materials, and get free lunch from Jimmy John's (minimum three hours of work required for lunch). Workday is from 8:30-1:30 at REL.

#ReachHigher Financial Aid Info Session – April 7, Media Center

Parents and students who need assistance with financial aid forms can bring their questions to this event! Counselors will be on hand to help you with the FAFSA, Florida Financial Aid, and college aid applications. This event is open to all REL seniors and parents.

How to Create a College Schedule Classroom presentations - April 13
Work with current sophomores on creating schedules for FSCJ. This event happens during the school day. Email Dr. Keefe for times. 



How to Create a College Schedule – April 14, Media Center

Open to any parent or student who is interested in learning more about how to select classes for dual enrollment programs at FSCJ.



Moving up to EC 10th Grade – April 21, Auditorium

Information will be provided regarding Early College Continuation Criteria, PERT Testing, and EOCs. This event is open to all 9th grade Early College students and parents.



Making the Leap to Senior Year – April 23, Auditorium

Join us for information about graduation requirements, the college application process, financial aid, scholarships, and dual enrollment opportunities. This event is open to all REL juniors and parents.



Hop Over to High School – April 28, Auditorium

This event, open to our incoming class of students, will provide information for students and parents about REL programs, expectations, and benefits of dual enrollment offered at Lee High School. This event is open to 8th grade student and parent expecting to attend REL for the 2015-2016 school year.



How to Get Ahead in High School – April 30, Auditorium

Join us for information about graduation requirements, scholarships, dual enrollment opportunities, financial aid, and resources to help your child think about careers. This event is open to all REL freshmen, sophomores, and parents.

KIPP Mentoring program - May 2015
If you are interested in working with students currently enrolled at KIPP & projected to attend REL next year, please email Dr. Keefe. The dates and times will vary depending on students' schedules. This program is only open to current Juniors.
